How to make

This time I used an inner garment that had been used and soiled for a long time to make a chou chou.
The garment is 30cm x 50cm and the elastic is cut into 22cm pieces. @Fold the cloth in half, face down.
ASew both ends by machine or hand, leaving about 5-6 cm for the back edge.
BTurn the cloth inside out.
CBring the sewn part of the cloth to the middle, and fold it in half with the unstitched side inside.
DAlign the back edge like this (picture on the left), and sew at about 1cm from the edge. After sewing and shaping, it will look like this (photo on the right).
EThread the elastic through the back end. At this time, it is easier to tie the elastic through the elastic thread and pinch the other end with a clip.
FTie the elastic into a tight knot.
GClose the turnstile with a U-shape binding or matsuri-sewing. If the turnout is long, you can sew the edge with a machine. However, I found the "U-shape binding" to be easier to do.

Finished!
I used the lacy part, so it was white and simple, yet so pretty!
I'm not a great seamstress, but it took me about 30 minutes from cutting the garment to completing it, and I found it easy.
You'll love the ones you made, and if you're going to throw them away because they're stained from years of wear and you don't feel like giving them away as hand-me-downs or taking them to a thrift store, then remaking them is a great idea!
