Because they are in the business of handling animals lives, we want them to be careful about their hygiene and health, but they actually have a big problem.

Severe Situation

Nowadays, pet stores are facing the problem of not taking proper care of their animals because they are too busy looking for profit.
In addition to the above, there is a lack of proper care for pets in backyards, such as keeping newly arrived puppies and kittens in small cages just barely big enough to hold them until they are ready to be sold, or giving medication to sick pets without calling a veterinarian, based on amateur judgment.

引き取り屋とは？

引き取り屋とは飼えなくなったペットやペットショップで売れ残ったペットを一定の額を払うことで代わりに引き取って世話をしたり、里親を探したりしてくれる業者のことです。
しかし実態はお金目当ての事業であり、引き取ったペットを捨てたり、保健所に持ち込んだり、世話をせずに死なせたりしてしまうこともあります。
これでは殺処分と何も変りません。

里親に出したはずの子猫の行方が分からなくなり、猫を引き渡した方が問い合わせたところ、実は捨てられていたことが発覚したという事件もありました。
こうした悪質な業者を無くすためにも、次のような法律の適用が期待されているのです。
